Going on a trip is suppose to be fun, but sometimes it can be stressful.
It is our hope that most, if not all, of that stress can be eliminated by simply
providing you with some helpful tips.
Reservations: Be sure to make your reservations early to
guarantee your seat. You must also send in
your deposit or full payment in a timely manner. If we do not receive your
payment in full, your trip will be cancelled. If you send in your payment
by mail, be sure to include all of your information, travel date, and the
charter order number if you have it.
Before your
trip...
-
Select appropriate and comfortable attire. If you will be doing a lot
of walking, make sure to wear appropriate shoes.
-
Check the local weather conditions. Make sure to dress based
upon what the weather is suppose to be like.
-
It
is very difficult to maintain a temperature that is ideal for everyone on
the bus, so bring along a light sweater or jacket in case you get cold.
It is also helpful if the outside temperature varies from inside.
-
Always bring an extra supply of your medications. Even if this is a
day excursion, bring enough medication to last at least 24 hours.
Never pack your medications in your luggage, keep them with you on the bus.
-
It
is always a good idea to bring a small supply of emergency essentials such
as Aspirin/Tylenol, Band-Aids, laxatives, heartburn relief, and insect
repellant.
-
If
your trip will require you to cross the U.S. border, bring along a copy of
your passport or a certified copy of your birth certificate.
-
Take a pen/pencil and a small tablet of paper to write on.
-
Inform your friends/family of your plans and what your itinerary is.
It is a good idea to provide them with emergency contact numbers and the
telephone number of the lodging you will be staying at.
-
Do
not place valuables, keys, prescriptions, or forms of identification in your
luggage. These items should be kept with you on board the bus.
Overhead storage is provided for your convenience.
-
Bring sufficient cash for meals, gratuities, and souvenirs. Also keep your
cash with you and in a safe location. Always be aware of who is around
you and never let others see how much cash you have or where it is kept.
-
Do
not bring anything along that may be construed as a weapon. Due to
heightened national security, officials may check your belongings for
contraband.
-
Plan to arrive at the departure location at least 15 minutes early.
-
If
you are driving to your departure location, make sure to park in a safe,
well lit area. Make note of where you parked. Be sure to lock
all of the door and place any items of value out of sight.
-
When placing your luggage in the coach's cargo bays, make note of which bay
you placed it in and try to put it in an area where it won't get damaged.
Boarding your
coach...
-
Make a notation of your bus number. Many motorcoaches look alike, you
want to make sure you re-board the right Best Tours bus!
-
Use caution when boarding the coach. Always utilize the provided
handrails when climbing the steps as the coach may not be parked on
perfectly level pavement.
-
When making your way to your seat, grip the overhead handrails. Do not
use the seat headrests as they can come off or shift.
-
Prior to taking your seat, make a notation of your seat number. Most
seat numbers are either on the overhead compartment or on the window frame.
-
Be
sure to stow all bulky items in the overhead compartments. Completely
close the compartment door and be sure it is locked. If the door does
not latch, items could fall down on you during the trip and cause injury.
-
Never place items on the floor that extend into the aisle in any way.
Federal Law requires that the aisles be kept unobstructed at all times while
the bus is in motion.
-
Familiarize yourself with the overhead controls. An individual air
vent and reading lights are provided for your comfort. It is best to
examine them prior to departure in the event you need to ask your driver for
assistance. Be aware that these items could be deactivated from the
cockpit; ask your driver to turn them on if needed.
-
Always pay close attention to all of the safety information explained by
your driver or tour guide. In the event of an emergency, this
information could safe your life.
-
Be
sure you are familiar with the location and operation of the on-board
lavatory prior to departure. Once the bus is in motion, you are
required to stay in your seat.
During your
trip...
-
Listen carefully to all of the instructions given to you by your driver or
tour guide. They may contain valuable information that could be
important for the full enjoyment of your trip. Be sure to take note of
his/her name in case you need something during the trip.
-
Write down all of the information about your departure location(s) and
time(s).
-
Introduce yourself and your traveling companions to others on the bus.
Coach travel is an excellent way to meet new friends with similar interests!
-
While off the bus, never venture into an area that you are unsure about.
Also ask for assistance from people you know you can trust such as Best
Tours personnel, policemen, hotel personnel, or other public servants.

there could be different customs and lifestyles. Remember, you are the
guest and visitor to their home; always show respect to your host.
After your
trip...

compartment for your personal belongings. Be sure to pick up any trash
and deposit it in the provided waste receptacles. Best Tours is not
responsible for any belongings lost or left behind on the coach.
- Look carefully at your luggage to insure
you have the right baggage and that you did not forget something. Many
pieces of luggage look alike, so be sure you have yours.
